How to Draw Trees.  You CAN draw trees--it's easy!

Drawing trees is an essential skill for an artist to learn because trees are in nearly every landscape.  Drawing trees is easy; there are just a few basic steps to follow:

1. Always draw trees from the bottom up.
2. The base of the tree trunk will be the widest, and the tree will become narrower as it gets to its tallest point.
3. When drawing tree branches, make them in a "v" formation.
4. The thickest part of the tree branch is the point where it stems off of the trunk; as the branch gets farther away,
    it will become thinner.
5. Winter trees will have no leaves, and are the easiest to draw.  Spring and Autumn trees will have a sparser
amount of leaves, and summer trees will be the fullest.
6. Watch the shading on the tree.  One side of the tree should be visibly darker, and then gradually get lighter on the
other side of the tree.  This shading shows where the direction of sunlight would be in the picture and helps
create a three dimensional effect.  If you want the sunlight to come from the right side of the page, the left side
of the tree would be the darkest.  Placing a shadow on the left side of the ground under the tree would also be
    necessary.
7. Leaves don't need to be drawn individually.
